AN EDITABLE STARTING POINT
Bilingual notes
Compare the rhythm of two languages with a moderate type scale and generous line spacing.
Start with an 18-pixel base, a 1.25 scale, and a 1.75 line height. These values are a comparison point, not a universal optimum.
Read the mixed-language sample before switching to single-language views. Watch for crowded Chinese punctuation and long English words or links stretching the container. Compare the same passage at narrow and wide widths instead of changing the text between tests.
Change one parameter at a time. Try line height for crowded text, the scale for overbearing headings, and a narrower measure when finding the next line becomes difficult. The measure uses CSS ch units; it does not promise an identical number of Chinese characters per line.
Export the CSS and check it in an actual article, including font fallback, doubled text size, and the longest heading. When saving the configuration, describe its intended use—for example, “short notes with mixed Chinese and English”—so it is easier to choose next time.
The ZIP includes editable parameters, an SVG preview and usage notes. Export the final PNG from the workbench. Fonts have their own licenses.
